Institute of Coptic Studies

The Institute of Coptic Studies is a leading academic and research institution affiliated with the Coptic Orthodox Church. Its mission is to study and preserve Coptic heritage in all its fields, including theology, language, arts, archaeology, history, and music. The institute offers specialized academic programs, hosts international conferences, seminars, and research projects, and provides a library and research resources for students and researchers.

The Institute of Coptic Studies was established in 1954 as the first academic institution specializing in Coptic studies in the Middle East. It is headed by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II as the Supreme President and comprises an elite group of professors and researchers in various fields. Our vision: To be a global center for research and education in Coptic heritage. Our mission: To provide high-quality education and scientific research that contributes to the preservation and development of Coptic heritage spiritually, culturally, and artistically.
